I usually don't pay attention to the ESPN list. I will say this, Kennesaw State two deep are full of transfers, so they are learning to play together. They have some size and speed, and after watching some of the game against UTSA, they are certainly capable on the defensive side of the football.
Now I'm not suggesting they are anything close to our next three opponents, but the Cajun's are not good enough at this point to go up there a lay a big crapper. This is a building block game, and I want to see improvement in the running game (more consistency) and a cleaner game on Special Teams.
Allegedly, KSU redshirted over half their team last year to save them for their first year of FBS.
Don’t sell that team short.

KSU checks in at 25.

Really crazy to me how people still have this mindset about teams moving up after watching what most of them did in this conference after moving up.
Or how a move up who wasn’t even supposed to be eligible for a bowl game last year beat us in a bowl game. I don’t take any games for granted and having watched the ksu-utsa game I think we will most definitely have our hands full. Should we win this game? Yes. Will we win this game? Who knows but nobody can or should say this game is a gimme. Until we actually prove it then like coach said WE HAVEN’T DONE CRAP.
From last season’s KSU preseason presser…
One of the biggest questions was redshirting. Many veteran Owls have intact redshirt years, meaning they could sit out this year’s nine-game championship-less season and have an additional year of eligibility once Kennesaw State is an FBS program. Bohannon and the rest of the coaching staff must balance wanting to be competitive this season with having the best chance to win at the FBS level in 2024.
“If we can (redshirt them) and they’re willing, we’re going to do it this year,” Bohannon said. “Especially guys that we know moving forward can (help us) as we move into Conference USA. We’ve got several guys on our roster that are in that boat.”
So basically, they tanked last year.
These Bottom 10/25 articles are fluff pieces. Kennesaw State will give us their best, especially with this being their first FBS home game. Coach Des and staff need to have these guys focused. Defense needs to clean up the Week 1 mistakes. I hope we see more out of the rushing game this week.
