ODU made it close against So Carolina, and Troy barely lost to Nevada.

Meanwhile, TSU beat Lamar by only a touchdown, and Ark St squeaked by Central.

Not an auspicious start.

Yep. Not a good Week 1 by the Belt in trying to be the best non P4/P5 football conference.

Other than Houston, looks like every P4 held serve against G5 teams.

I agree. All games based on wk 1 performance are winnable. The only team in next 11 games that played as well as UL from start to end was Tulane.

The last two years I have taken the bullet and said after early season losses that we were young and early season struggles were to be expected.

Well now I am on the other side. We are an experienced team, we should look better than a lot of teams right now because of that experience. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t improve as the season progresses, but we should be ahead of a lot of our peers right now with this much experience coming back.

Speaking of Houston, so Zeon Chriss transferred there to sit the bench? Does that make sense? I just don't understand the mentality of these young athletes anymore.

Maybe he read posts that they have a better game day experience. Maybe he started interning with the company he plans on working for after graduation
