BW didn’t come back from injury until fall camp, so why if neck and neck AND if it were a true competition, then why go that route when CF was QB1 through spring and summer prior to fall?

Actually Ben was cleared for all activities at the beginning of the summer semester. Those guys do more work in summer these days than most realize. Granted, that is with very limited involvement from coaches. Strength and conditioning coaches lead much of that work. Ben IS completely healthy. Now it is possible that the 2 surgeries will impact his mobility forever more. No way to know the answer to this question at this stage.
