I just want to win games. Idc how it looks. Napier teams were some of the most boring teams I’ve ever watched. But they won so it didn’t matter. Dink and dunk, ground and pound who cares? Just win the damn football game.

You do realize those are RPO plays right? We had two out side and grambling only had one to cover which is why the "screen" was thrown. Grambling wanted to stack the box and not be forced to spread out the defense

So Ben is making the decision to hand it off or throw the wr screen? It lines up with coaches presser today. I’m not upset about the gameplan. I want to feel like we can run the ball successfully when we want too.

I think we're all on the same page here.

Agreed, but Coach Des admitted today, that they probably forced the run too much in the past and running into loaded boxes. I am sure that has something to do with personel, but also probably ego. Last year, teams dared us to pass the ball and we continued to try and run it.

I think the right answer is to 'want' to run the ball when the odds are even or in your favor from a box perspective. If, as an offense, you can make the defense wrong, no matter what they decide to try and stop, you are truly elite.

Defense wins championships!! If we can pressure on defense and making the right decisions on offense we will be good.

Cant have a big ego you can if you are Bama we are not Bama

At this level and Pros I think its all bout hard work and game planning, adjusting to what your opponent is doing, at this level everyone is good, you know how good of an athlete you have to be even offered a scholarship, more so in the pros.

High school to college apples and oranges, and college to pros even more.

With Napier teams, both the team and fans, EXPECTED to go for it on fourth down AND EXPECTED picking up the first down.

The ability to impose one’s will on the opponent time and time again more than made up for the blandness. Sitting in CF and watching this from the Ragin Cajuns was priceless…for once, being the punisher.

Not sure about you but I was never confident when Napier went for it on 4th down. Do you know his percentage? I’d venture to guess it wasn’t great. That dude was one of the worst play callers I’ve ever seen. And the game against app in 19 at home he made some of the most boneheaded calls on 4th down. Most of the time he got bailed out by the talent. I guess my point is….hell I don’t know what my point is. I just want to win. I don’t care who the coach is. Just fkn win please.

Was like you the first year or so. By his last year, I started getting giddy by the end of the season when going for it on 4th. I’ll give Napier this much, his time here was right time, place, players, few injuries later years, confidence and luck.

If anyone questions the value of healthy difference making O-lines, Napier recruited and/or built that. That’s where the confidence came from. Multiple guys that went on to play on Sundays.
