The paths of Kyle and Amy Bacon crossed during a momentous time in Louisiana's history, a time when the University brand was moving away from Southwestern and pivoting to Louisiana.
Kyle, a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and Amy, a Phi Mu Sorority sister and part of the Student Orientation Staff, forged lifelong friendships and made lasting memories during their college years.
Kyle grew up a proud Lafayette High Mighty Lion, while Amy was a spirited Port Barre Red Devil. From an early age, attending Ragin' Cajuns sporting events was a cherished part of Kyle's life, igniting a passion that would carry through to his adulthood.
Amy, a trailblazing first-generation college student, worked diligently through her studies. She graduated from UL's College of Liberal Arts with a major in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and later earned a Master of Science from Southeastern Louisiana University. Over the past 20+ years, she has built a successful career as a speech therapist and founded Let's Talk, L.L.C., specializing in early-intervention speech and occupational therapy.
Kyle pursued his education at the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at UL, earning a B.S. in Business Administration. He went on to obtain his law degree (J.D.) from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center. For the past 20 years, Kyle has practiced law with a focus on commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate matters. He currently serves as the Office Head of the Lafayette office of Jones Walker LLP and co-leads the firm's Commercial Transactions Team.
