These are the numbers Dr. Maggard put out there as minimum needs from the win for 10 program, this is directly from his mouth. Again this is not for survival of the program, this is what we need from the win for 10 program. I was at the basketball rebounders meeting when he announced this and has reiterated it over and over again. The expectation annually from the Win for 10 program are as follows:
UL Football needs 2000 members of -Win with 10's -240K Annual cash flow
UL Basketball needs 1000 members of -Win with 10's-120K Annual cash flow
UL Baseball needs 1000 members of -win with 10's-120K Annual cash flow
UL Softball needs 1000 members of - win with 10's-120K Annual cash flow
(These are the numbers he needs from the win for 10 program for each program to
have annual cash flow coming in, he knows he will get lump sum donations on top of this, but his thoughts are we need a constant and consistent cash flow coming in, he received at least a 10K donation to the basketball program while I was sitting in the rebounders kickoff meeting).
The win for 10 program is all about having a cash flow coming in monthly. The lump sum donations are great, but you can not rely on those, the $10 a month keeps money in the bank and the $120K annually will allow you to do other things to grow your ability to raise more cash.
Dr Maggard has shown repeatedly that he can continue to move our programs forward in these unknown times of college athletics with players in and out and coaches in and out. The WIN with $10 is an excellent idea who ever came up with it to assist in this for smaller donors who love this university like myself.
