Thread: Desormeaux details the Cajuns' QB situation

  1. UL Football Desormeaux details the Cajuns' QB situation

In each of Michael Desormeaux’s first two seasons as the UL head coach, the Ragin’ Cajuns have had to lean on three quarterbacks to get through each season.

While the depth is better at nearly every other position in Desormeaux’s third season, quarterback could be a tricky spot.

My only issue in this article is the quote at the end. How does a High School QB know the offense already? I know it’s implying he’s smart, which I like, but it also implies our offense is high school-ish. Yet, we have some QB’s that can’t catch on to the offense. I guess the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I don't read too much into to this coach talk going in to fall camp. I view it as simply saying he knows enough of the offense at this time to give him a package if we need him and to give him some confidence, just like Chriss. He didn't bring in Lara to compete with Fields and Woolridge if he really thought Beale would be able to contribute this season.

No, I think the kid the CHBR is just that bright in terms of the QB room.

Would love to see old threads debating if CMDx should have been QB1 or not, or whatever qb1 was called back then

There was no debate at least after Babb’s last season.

That article just compounds the apathy.

CF should be our starting QB. Name him and move on. He gets hurt. Then Ben can fill the position if something happens. So clear.

    Cajun Fields moves the chains.

While I certainly understand the importance of having a battery of capable QB's available, what does the Cajuns OL situation look like?

……I questioned Coach one time about the decisions on choosing a QB…the Houston game …Fields scrambles and makes one of Cajun football’s great TD passes….later Chris’s play almost wins the game by himself…I thought Lunch was to be the next Chris’s but doesn’t seem that way…Ready for the season!!!
