Academic credentials seem pretty easy to prove for 99pct of rest of academia.....especially now that some of those athletes can transfer in at last minute without even enough eligibility left to sit for required credits needed in residence to graduate..... there was a supreme court victory for someone who wanted to go to texas but got stuck going to lswho. Just not sure why athletics has never been challenged on same criteria, other than the rest of the school prefers to have the athlete than the unknown smarter student (who isnt that smart, just smarter than the athlete)
So apparently football roster is being reduced from 120 to 105.
How many can dress for each game and each road trip?
Programs like UNO are about to experience a slow death. They’re already in trouble, and as a Louisiana taxpayer, do they still deserve the “statewide” university classification. Their market moved across the lake.

They should have merged with SUNO when they had the opportunity.
Astute observation there. Much of the upper middle class who work in New Orleans have moved to the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. This started many years ago and continues today. That is why St. Tammany Parish is doing well economically. Children of those people can go to SLU or LSU without crossing the Lake. Some come here. Tough situation for UNO and I am not sure how they turn it around.
There is more to an athletic scholarship than sitting in a desk in a classroom
Room & board, monthly stipends, book fees, etc.
There will be added cost of funding this
