Thread: Would Season Ticket Holders Object to giving FIU tickets away??

  1. This is a GREAT IDEA Crazy Idea (might work, might not)

My wheels started turning after the NFL had free tickets to the Dolphin, Charger game. . .

I suggest UL do this for the FIU game. (I know, far fetched.) Have a FREE FAN DAY. All you have to do for the free game is sign up for a UL season ticket mailing list.

The thing is UL will never be able to do this again in its history and this $100,000 dollar investment (estimate) could pay off million$ down the road.

Anyone have a better PR move that could bring in new fans, and have those coming back for years?

After this season the 15,000 rule kicks in, and something like this could never be attempted again.

    Any thoughts? (good or bad)

i think it's a good idea if they could pull it off, get it to gerald and let him run with it, if anyone can pull this off it's gerald.

I agree, I've had that same thought on my mind for awhile now. I think you save it for a day when we might need a huge boost in attendence. As for the season ticket holders, im guessing you would be obligated to offer them a refund, but include in the offer the chance for them to not accept it and make a nice donation.

  4. UL Football Season Ticket Holders

Would you object to UL giving the rest of the seats away for the last game of the season?

for the people who already paid, send those ticketholders coupons for free drinks/hot dogs. for each ticket, they get a free drink and hotdog at the game.

    Thanks DaddyCajun

I was aware that boosters may not provide free tickets to potential student-athletes or their family members since it would be considered improper inducements. But . . .

For some reason I thought free games to the general public were different somehow. Not unlike Fall Ball and Spring Scrimmage.

No disrespect, but how is a one time thing the wrong presidence? You can never do it again because next year there is a 15,000 paid and butt in the seat requirement. I like the idea because football needs a kick in the butt. Get it? Seats butt, football kick in the butt count. Again no disrespect but I read on another post that the tennis tournament was free to the public, how is football different?

I still the think the magnanimous gesture of free tickets would be a great way to go out.

The initial comment of $100,000 was based on 5000 season tickets, and another 10,000 paid entry at $10 apiece.

You can lower the cost to the university by $10,000 for every thousand under 15,000 that attend Saturday.

Chuck is right the tennis tournament was [ free ]. What an incredibly great gesture that no one heard about.

I've got 4 season tickets and it would not bother me one bit to let others get in free. I'm for the program, not for myself. Also, with increased attendance, consessions may increase. I'm not against trying something new.
