Alyson Habetz Named Louisiana Softball Head Coach

We know that on the list of possible coaches, no one had more passion about this team than Alyson. She has 100's of contacts out there, so it will be interesting to see who she brings to the team as assistants.

We have had some passionate coaches in the past.....Yvette, Michael and Stefni, and they did quite well. Glasco did very well but did not have the emotional ties that the previous coaches had.

As many people on this website that constantly kick Maggard, once again he comes through with the right hire when it comes to spring sports. She is the right hire at the right time. I said that same thing when Deggs was hired. Fans wanted the Culture, now they have it! Some of these same folks need to be ready to support her financially because we are in a new era of college sports.

We could not ask for better!!!! With her experience and contacts Glasco may have done us a favor.

She will energize the program immediately. She is a relentless recruiter and and has numerous contacts amongst the travel and collegiate coaching ranks. I expect the UL softball program to remain relevant as a national contender all during her tenure.

IF we can't make it work with Alyson I don't hold out much hope for the future of Cajun athletics. The landscape is drastically different today than a few years ago. It is going to be an up hill battle and that has nothing to do with who our coach is....

a national title, 15 world series appearances and 12 sec championships. Yes, Id say its an upgrade on day 1.
