The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball program has its 2024 non-conference schedule set in place as revealed on Tuesday (June 11, 2024), highlighted by a pair of tournaments at E.K. Long Gym this coming fall.

In non-conference play, Louisiana will compete in six matches at E.K. Long Gym, bringing the total number of home matches in the 2024 season to 14 when added to the previously announced Sun Belt Conference schedule.

Louisiana is set to play two of its four non-conference weekends at E.K. Long Gym, starting with the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic on Opening Weekend and ending with the Ragin' Cajuns Classic in week four.

For the first time in Kristi Gray's tenure the season begins at home as the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic at E.K. Long Gym from Friday-Sunday, August 30-September 1 kicks off the fourth season under her leadership. The Ragin' Cajuns meet Jackson State (Aug. 30), Murray State (Aug. 31) and UT Arlington (Sept. 1) during the season-opening event.

The first road trip is to Houston for the Flo Hyman Classic (UH, Northwestern State) from September 5-6 and it's immediately followed by a midweek home match with McNeese on September 10.

After hosting McNeese, UL completes road non-conference matches by traveling to Bryan-College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M Invitational (September 13-15) to face New Hampshire, Temple and Texas A&M followed by a midweek match on September 17 in Hammond at Southeastern Louisiana.

The final lead-up to Sun Belt Conference play is the Ragin' Cajuns Classic at E.K. Long Gym with Louisiana scheduled to play on September 19 and 20 against Jacksonville State and Florida A&M. The tournament also features back-to-back Southland Tournament champions and NCAA Tournament participant Southeastern Louisiana.

Prior to the start of regular season play, the Ragin' Cajuns face Tulane in an exhibition match in New Orleans on August 23 and provide fans with a preview at home holding the Red and White Scrimmage at E.K. Long Gym on August 27.

Admission to all UL Volleyball matches held at E.K. Long Gym throughout the entire season is free and open to the public.

ABOUT LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns (19-13, 9-7 SBC) posted their third consecutive winning mark under the guidance of head coach Kristi Gray during the fall 2023 season. UL posted its highest win total of Gray's tenure, totaling 19 victories, and claimed an SBC Tournament win for the third consecutive season.

Balance was the key to the Cajuns success offensively and defensively, with five players posting 150-plus kills and four players collecting 200-plus digs, directed by the efforts of setter Siena DeCambra and libero Mio Yamamoto, both All-Sun Belt selections. Yamamoto was named the SBC Libero of the Year.

For the second consecutive season Gray's exciting up-tempo style of volleyball drew record numbers to E.K. Long Gym, the Cajuns setting the total attendance mark for a single season once again drawing 7,219 over the 11-match home slate.
