His ankle turned backwards when he planted trying to alter his slide at the plate. He’s played his last game. That’s a shame. Aggies may still have enough to win it all though. It’s a REALLY good team

Pretty sure it was an air cast and not a walking boot. He took an awkward slide into home. Kicked himself in the back of the ankle and looked to have broken it.

Chris Cortez's command has improved nicely from earlier in the year (and by leaps and bounds since last year) . and is the LP of A&M. Nasty stuff.

I’m worried it may have been his achilles.

how many here were fitting over Florida making it into the field of 64

well, they now have a 78% chance to make it to the CWS

and about that SEC having a bad day . . .

If UF played this well for 56 games, they would have hosted one or both weekends. But they didn’t play well and their play the last 5 games doesn’t justify putting them in the field of 64.

    Speaking of the SEC.

They get a ton of accolades, and well deserved. But the ACC deserves the same. Looked into this earlier in the week.

5 SEC teams hosted regionals. The 2 seeds in those regionals came from the Sun Belt (2), CUSA, Missouri Valley and Colonial Athletic conferences. And 4 of those 5 SEC hosts advanced.

The ACC also had 5 host teams. The 2 seeds in all 5 of those regionals were SEC schools. And all 5 of those ACC teams advanced.

Of the 5 ACC teams playing in Supers, one has already advanced to Omaha and 3 others are in the drivers seat (1-0) in their Super Regional.

The SEC also has a chance to get 5 teams to Omaha, although a couple have some work to do. And it’s not out of the question that this years CWS is 4 teams from each of those 2 leagues. Or 5 and 3 from one or the other.

The SEC is the deeper conference but the top end of the ACC is right on par with the top of the SEC…which means the top of college baseball.

    (Raises Hand)

They didn’t even qualify for the SEC Tournament. And now, they may be a dark horse to win it all if they end up making it to Omaha.
