At least we can say we beat the 4-in-a-row national champs this year in softball.

They are great. Kinda like ucla b ball of old
4 natties in a row is a great feat and OU is without a doubt the most dominant program around today. As I read on another forum, it seems that good teams turn to jello and suddenly play differently than they have all year when they play OU at the WCWS. Texas was rolling at the end of the season and in the post season. They then get to the championship series and play like they never saw a softball before. Too many bobbles, bad throws, pitches being missed and bad base running did Texas in. When I saw the Texas player get tagged out after making an aggressive turn at first for a single and lazily walking back to the bag, I thought to myself Texas is going to lose this game. It's hard to understand how a player can go brain dead at a moment like that. But, it seems that type of thing favors OU more times than not.
The intimidation has a real effect.
Getting to basically play home games in the WCWS probably doesn’t hurt either
Oklahoma softball is a juggernaut. They step up in big situations and like mentioned by others opposing teams seem to make uncharacteristically bad mistakes while playing OU. At least we ended their long winning streak.
OU was definitely a little more vulnerable than in years past. That said, a little surprised but not shocked Texas tinkled down their leg.
Since I’m not a fan of the Texas coach (if you follow the game a little, you might agree), was glad the Sooners pulled it off.
Nice to have played both teams that were in the finals.
Team with Longest NCAA d1 win streak; sport; who ended it:
UCONN; w. Bb; Miss St
UCLA; m. Bb; Notre Dame
Sooners; softball; CAJUNS
Sooners; football; Notre Dame
FAU; baseball; Jacksonville (34)
Tie Texas; baseball; Rice.
Fun fact the texas team did not make postseason, and a few years later they had a second streak one game shorter
