Thread: Texas State: Take Back Texas Tour

Default Texas State: Take Back Texas Tour

    https://txst.com/news/2024/5/7/footb...june-july.aspx

Remember that “bus tour” I talked about last Fall where our coaches go to different cities in the state to promote the program? Well, Texas State implemented it (maybe not with a bus but you get the idea) and will travel to 6 cities around the State of Texas in the next two months promoting their football program.

What a profound thought……. nah, it will never work.

Texas State did just set their all time season attendance record for football in 2023. Meanwhile we were very far from ours

Maybe doing things to connect with the fan base actually works.

Our fan apathy is multi-faceted and some of those facets are beyond our control.

No doubt. The NIL/ unlimited transfer portal issue probably contributes to most of the apathy.

Why get financially or emotionally attached when if you are successful it all gets taken away

    No seriously. Do something

Texas State needs to make this a tradition.

If it is done right attendance will be off the charts.

However regardless of whether ititial attendance is off the charts or lacking, they should not let that influence future plans.

There is more value in news of an event, than there is in the event itself.

    Stay in the news.

4 out of the 6 stops have a population of 1.5 million or above

    must be nice

  9. Default Re: Texas State: Take Back Texas Tour

the largest population on a stop in LA would be NO at 243,000

    zeros matter

That involves work. And enthusiasm. And passion. And personality. And using the front porch name consistently, not giving mixed messaging.

When freaking Nicholls State is making inroads to Iberia Parish, we got someone asleep at the switch.

One of my coworkers if a former TX State athlete. We were talking earlier about them winning the Bubba Cup, and he told me they’re currently on an all out promotion blitz for athletics. They’ve been running ads promoting their program for donors in San Antonio to the points it’s apparently aggravated the die-hard UTSA folks.

Sounds like something we’d be WAY too scared to do. And it’s too much work and too hard anyway.

Feet of clay. Everybody has a voice. Paralyzed to act. No one does the right thing. It all crumbles.

Don't know what we would be scared of. If anything, I would also be running promotions in Texas as well.
