We were the 2 in the #3 regional so a low 2 and they were a high 3. Very close.
We split the games. They beat us by 7 when we were throwing freshmen outfielders in the 5th inning. We beat them by 8 when they were fighting for their lives.
You can crap on it all you want. It was a great win against a powerhouse program…and on national TV. And we won it in style. It was good for the program.
Sorry if it wasn’t good enough for you. But it seems nothing short of national title in an undefeated season, and never being behind in a game all year…against the toughest schedule in the country…would be.
And that’s your right. I was just asking why it’s so hard to just enjoy winning.
I'm saying you either don't understand who college baseball royalty has been, or you are being sarcastic. Texas WS appearances in the last 24 years, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2018, 2021. Regional appearances in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024.
You think your question is still in context now? No, there was no big difference in seeding between UL & Texas.
You are 100% correct....I enjoyed this regional and I am proud of our guys and our coach. What we proved is that we were a very worthy #2 seed. I'll grant that Texas was emotionally drained but don't tell me in that state they did not want another shot at the Aggies in the worst way. We are at least equal with Texas. A&M (that would be Texas A&M not Louisiana A&M aka LSU) is in another level. We would need a 2000 type team to go in there and beat them as we did that year in South Carolina... We are not there.... yet... Diggs is building...........
Simply put, OUTSTANDING.
Geaux Cajuns.
Dude, seriously? What kind of nonsense and colloquial genius is, a "shirt is a shirt?" LOL!!!! Look, you can disrespect this team's accomplishments if you want. Texas may have been down, but they still won 35 games in a great baseball conference. They made a super-regional last year. Do you really think the Cajun's program is on par with Texas? Texas is still an elite program, and their record shows it over the past two decades and longer. But if you want to argue with those numbers then you are wasting my time.
