MBB Roster

Here is the projected MBB scholarship roster for next season. The 13 allowed scholarships includes 5 seniors, 3 juniors, 4 sophomores, and one freshman. Someone requested that a few weeks ago. I mentioned at that time it should be available in early June when summer school begins. Now that recruiting appears over, I thought I would provide it. I know people were discouraged when Kobe and Joe left. At that time some wondered if we would be able to even have enough guys to field a team. I knew that was being overly pessimistic as the staff was deep into recruiting mode and they would eventually bring new guys aboard. Are any of these guys as good as Kobe was on offense or Joe on defense, I have no clue. I simply will wait to see what they contribute and won't make any assumptions good or bad on their ability until they hit the court here. Note, this does not come from the school website. It only comes from my memory of how returning players were used here and newcomers used at their previous stops. Sometime later this summer Craig Melancon and I will record a podcast reviewing the recruiting class in more detail.

Yes, my post was only referring to 13 scholarship players. Christian Landry is DEFINITELY still on the roster as a walkon. He is looking forward to competing against all the new guys when summer workouts begin next week. Also, reminder that Michael Mouton who was a standout at STM this past season is on the roster as a walkon as well.

They need to go find another big now. There already wasn’t enough 4s/5s and with Powell not coming, there’s way too few

Note I know absolutely nothing about this situation. We had 4 inside guys before this move. Now we have 3. Recall Terrance Lewis was a summer graduate and joined the team when school started in August. I would expect something similar to happen this year.
