Louisiana men's basketball signed another elite scorer with the addition of Koron Davis. In two seasons at the junior college level, Davis scored 1,082 points between LA Southwest and Paris Junior College.
Koron is a talented player who can play multiple positions," said head coach Bob Marlin. "He can score the ball at all three levels and uses his athleticism to flourish in transition. His length aids him defensively and in rebounding the ball."
Davis scored 23.8 points per game at LA Southwest, earning California All-State honors in 2023. He also added 6.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Davis was an efficient scorer, shooting 187-for-389 (.481) from the field and 35-for-106 (.330) from deep. He scored over 40 points twice in a game and finished in double figures in all but one game.
Before that, he spent a year at Paris Junior College, leading the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game while also grabbing 6.6 rebounds. He finished the season with 10 games of 20-plus points, including a season-high 33 twice. While at Paris he was named Second Team All-Region. Last season Davis attended Louisville where he did not appear in a game.
Davis joins a reloaded Cajun roster in 2024-25 that includes fellow signees Jeremiah Evans (Forward/Southwood High School), Duncan Powell (Forward/Sacramento State), Kyndall Davis (Forward/Eastern Illinois), Mostpaha El Moutaouakkil (Guard/Indian River State), and Christian Wright (Guard/Oregon State)
