IFs are the biggest factor in sports.

    Nothing else comes close

How do you define “better” or “worse”? RPI?

Edit: this is not meant to be anything other than a question, and not argumentative in any way. Just curious because if you look at the D1Baseball projection, the Cajuns are the 2 seed. And UCF is the 3.

Cajuns won a conference title. UCF played in a better league and has a better RPI. So “better” or “worse” is pretty subjective.

I must say that I do like “butts” in women’s sports.

the committee defines better when they seed them

total body of work IN THEIR EYES

no matter who defines them it is still an opinion subject to debate however, I would venture to bet that nobody has as much info together on body of work on those 32 teams than the committee

2 has AWAYS been better than 3

    is that enough for you?

since you have no weight disclosed, the eye test on “butts” is probably the closest tangible

Who's in from the Sun Belt:

Cajuns and Southern Miss are locks.

Coastal, Troy, and James Madison probably fighting for 2 bids? Depending on who wins the conference tournament? Troy probably needs to make the championship. Same for JMU, IMHO. If the championship is Troy vs. JMU (both will improve their RPI in this scenario), I'm thinking Coastal gets left out.

Hopefully the Cajuns are getting some much needed rest and will come out on fire next weekend!

That isnt what was asked. However if you are correct then how xan one team change from a 2 to a 3, cajuns are neither better nor worse just because of that move based on conf tourny, they are the same team either way

Go back and read my edit to that post.

    And maybe relax a bit

In the #1 teams regional, in theory, the 2 seed is the #32 overall seed. And the 3 seed the #33…according to whoever and whatever the whoever uses. So one team being “better” is highly subjective.

And in each of the top overall seeds regionals, those numbers are also very close. AND, not always perfectly done like that due to having to move “same conference” schools around, etc.

Other than batting first or last, unless you’re the 2 seed in one of the non “national seed” regionals, it really doesn’t make much difference…in my opinion.

And for those that feel differently, that’s perfectly fine.

I see a few posts back that this is indeed an opinion board.

Some opinions are coupled with logical information. Some…not.

I don’t care how close they are to each other, the committee at least makes a decision that 32 is better than 33 and places them in the bracket as one that is better than the other.

You can post 50 times and that won’t change.

Also, every place you see Cajuns as 3 and others have them as a 2, that’s just an opinion from someone whose opinion counts for absolutely zero

Kind of like all opinions on this board, maybe except for GG who at least knows enough about the statistics and committees past process to be pretty accurate

So you’re sticking with your theory that there is a MOUND of difference?

One is a 2 and the other is a 3. In a field of 4, yes. Now I’m done. You can do your gymnastics with others here. GG dismissed it all with a proclaimed NO COMMENT yesterday and I’m doing the same today.

Oh, and it’s not a theory, it’s fact.

You’re welcome to your opinion, as we all are.

You may want to locate the definition of “fact” though.

But, you’re right, it’s time to move on from this.
