Looking like east of Camron. We’re going to be on the bad side. The Vermilion river is already kind of high. I’m worried about some flooding in places that tend to flood. Wind should not be too bad but 50 mph can knock down a lot of branches.

Get your grass cut. Its going to be another wet week.

Hopefully Acadiana area's power providers have their ____ together better than Centerpoint!

Cyclones were always referencing another part of the world.

    When did this change?
Organized low pressure with rotation is a cyclone, meteorologically. Hurricane, typhoon, willy willy are all just local vernacular for the same thing.

Yeah current track looks like the east side will push surge into Vermillion Bay. Pas bon for the river. Of course that could change mightily in the next two days.

I guess when I was growing up "Organized low pressure with rotation" rain storms weren't news worthy.

If the "Organized low pressure with rotation" rain storms have winds of 74 mph or greater they are.

I'm not troubled by what it is or isn't.

When I was growing up, "cyclone" was not used by local weathermen to describe developing or upcoming storms.

The technical term for a low pressure area ( no matter where it is ) is indeed cyclone. The technical term for a high pressure area is anti-cyclone.
