DeBarge, who joined Jace Conrad (2014) and Blake Trahan (2015) in earning SBC Player of the Year honors, belted 13 homers and drove in 45 RBI in SBC games while becoming the first player in school history to break the 20-home run mark.
Langevin!! Magnifique. Ca c’est bon, Cher.
DeBarge and the others really were fantastic.
Now to the tournament
Congratulations! All well deserved.
When is the last time a reliever won pitcher of the year??
I saw a list of every SBC superlative award winner ever given on Twitter earlier today. Went back and tried to find it and wasn’t able to.
There have been new awards added over the years, but this season was the first time ever that a team has won 4 of them in one season (Player, Pitcher, Freshman and Coach of the Year).
The Cajuns also led the SBC in batting and in ERA, while winning the league title by 3 games…and also having the tiebreaker over 2nd place. That’s about as dominant as it gets.
you can only play the teams that the sunbelt forces you to play
it is ashamed that the devil believes he has to raise his fiery pitch fork in every single accolade earned
We didn’t play JMU, App, or Ga. State
In Ga. State’s case, they’re in the tourney via the 3rd tie breaker over Texas State. Maybe Texas State playing us, and getting swept, has something to do with why they’re out and Georgia St is in.
The difference between making or missing the tournament was 4 games in the standings for JMU, and 3 1/2 for App State. Neither of those teams had to play 6 games against the Cajuns or S. Miss. Maybe they win those games and are two of the best teams in the league. Maybe they lose them and don’t make the tournament.
Finally, Ark State was in last place. If the Cajuns had not played them and played either JMU or App…and got SWEPT…they would STILL be the outright champions
Like I said, UL dominated the conference.
Good one Turbine. You win the award. Maybe an all time great comeback from a poster!
This is a thread about the awesome accolades earned by various deserving team members of the Ragin Cajuns and a "devil" showed up. Not surprising.
They prowl on this board, just waiting to create negativity, chaos and disruption. You know, to be the devil.
How many times do these list come out and our best guys who gave their all are placed on the second or third team or even snubbed. These are well deserved awards from a team that very much filled my hopes and expectations being realized this year. Props only, should be displayed.
Congratulations all around go out and God willing, it is to be hoped that the Ragin Cajun team is on Top when the conference tourney is complete. Geaux Cajuns!!!
