Tough spot for the new assistant director of gameday experience..
AC/DC, Guns n Roses, etc will be boring, or at least "same old, same old" to the younger crowd we need
But most of the butts in the seats currently will be fans of that era of music
I'm sure they can find common ground between 70s music and today...
*INSERT RODNEY DANGERFIELD EYE ROLL*
Even my wife has said stuff like AC/DC or anything from the 70’s and 80’s and even 90’s is just way to old.
Thats why we need a committee put together of students and alumni, Assisstant Director of Bands, and the Director of Bands coming together to redo the entire pregame.
Also the coaches and student athletes should also have a say of what they would want to come out of the tunnel with.
Yes indeed..
It's a balancing act because students will want to play rap and Taylor Swift, which will of course be wildly unpopular with people who buy tickets..
You've gotta hit that sweet spot of songs that everyone can agree are jams no matter how old
isn’t this just a come out song
all that matters for the come out song is that it have the right beat
it is only played for a very short time
it matters not one iota if it’s 100 years old or written this year for the occasion
they not dancing to it, they not sitting with their girl friend to it
no words needed so they not singing it
play AC DC
Wisconsin's Jump is an end of the third quarter song.
The secret sauce is fan participation.
"Raise your Hands" fits the bill.
'Sunshine' is the state song... playing it is as much political & positional, as anything else.
'Jambalaya' was written by Hank Williams while sitting on a Hadacol bus listening to the Cajuns talk. (And I have heard that he simply invented 'crawfish pie' because he needed something to rhyme, and that's why the dish is made so many different ways today... it didn't exist before the song.) Hadacol was the creation of 'Coozan' Dudley LeBlanc, a UL alum. He was one of the first Cajuns to research and promote our French heritage.
And he also created the modern retirement system under Social Security, but that's a longer story.
'Bosco Stomp' would be nice, but you need to be careful what you ask for. I like that McNeese plays 'Jolie Blonde' as a main course, but some Cajun musicians don't think it's a very good arrangement.
Folks, I’m not too sure if y’all read me.
Hells Bells can be integrated into the Swamp. The bell’s ringing in the intro would not come from AC/DC’s recording in the studio.
The Bell has an electric actuator (from what I’ve gathered by looking up into it.) to initiate motion. There wouldn’t even be a need for some student, local etc. to ring her. As a matter of fact, we could program perfect timing.
“Plant trees for whose shade you know you will never sit.”

Every bell that had ever rang at a football stadium has done so to Hells Bells
How bout For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica?
Or the instrumental of Iron Maiden: https://youtu.be/Z5rvQ3cH1pY?si=RFct9GJ4y_9gZXmA
AC DC has the best best for this
