He’s an average D1 pitcher that needs some refining. And we have, what so far looks to be, a good pitching coach. Hopefully, if Jack is willing, his potential can be realized before he’s done as a Cajun
Some of you people on this board don’t have a clue about this game. Always easier to just complain about a loss. This team has 39 wins and may get to 40 but some of you clowns have no clue how hard it is to win that many baseball games in a 56 game regular season.
We ll be better from this. Our boys got a wake up call today
This is the epitome of learning from a loss. Got your butts beat at home. Honestly we’re a few feet from doing 0-2 today. Get your stuff together and hit on Sunday.
There are 9 teams in the country with 40 wins
And 7 more (Cajuns included) that can get there tomorrow.
It’s elite company if you can do it.
Cajuns get to 40 tomorrow.
You’re probably right that some of us have no clue how hard it is to win that many games in a 56-game season. And some of us are just clueless period.
However, I’m not sure who on here was complaining that we haven’t gotten to 40 wins. This is a game thread with people discussing this game. I don’t think anyone today has said that we suck as a baseball team, but the fact that we stunk it up today is pretty undeniable.
Newsflash. People get upset about their team getting their butts kicked. Most of us will get over it and move on.
Actually, stepping back from yesterday, I’m not surprised and not disappointed. The team worked their tails off getting the championship. The emotional roller coaster with the series losses to Troy and CCU after being on a roll wasn’t easy. That comeback to a championship should earn Deggs COY.
Much rather have the guys take a breather and inexplicably lose one this way than do this next week or beyond.
So what’s the point of tagging our D1 pitcher with the D3 tag?
Just put a scarlet letter right on his forehead.
Did it like feel good in the moment?
He demonstrated at D3 that he was an overqualified D3 pitcher.
We go to him EVERY weekend on a team that is about to have 40 wins.
He was the opening day Friday starter.
He was a starter on the final weekend of the season.
He may not be the best arm on our team, however only one pitcher can be the best arm on the team.
Let’s face it, we need this guy to be successful if we are going to make noise in a regional.
What do each of you think that placed the scarlet D3 that he and his parents are thinking this morning when they see how the father of a past successful D1 pitcher here at Louisiana tagged out pitcher who had a pretty darn good outing yesterday and who’s success is depended upon for Louisiana to advance on the post season?
Perception is a virtue. Have one.
And it’s not like this was a regular weekend. It’s not easy splitting up a game into two days followed by another. We just checked a box towards post season at 3:45 and our opponent at 4:30 still had way more important boxes to check with respect to their post season that started at 4:30. Deggs changed up the lineup somewhat to give players we may need in the post season or next season a chance to get playing tiem. We just used our weekend game 2 starter to finish checking our box. I didn’t enjoy what I saw in the second game (except seeing Higgs just rob a HR, but it was far from the end of the world.
Yep. Lose now. Rather than later
