Comparing some stats and my small review:
UL: best offense in the regional, but pitching & fielding is not too great compared
Baylor: decent hitting, not many HRs. Pitching is good. Lowest Opp BAvg and hits allowed.
Ole Miss: Big HR team. Worst team batting avg but they can hit dingers. Pitching is probably the best in the regional, besides walking batters.
Princeton: Statistically the worst in many categories, but lead the regional in Fld% and Errors. Also a good stolen base team
Lastly, players to watch for:
Bay: Shaylon Govan - .444 avg, 8 HR, 28 RBI
Miss: Aynslie Furbush- .331 avg, 12 HR, 44 RBI
Prince: Sonia Zang- .392, 6 HR, 24 RBI
Hopefully the Cajuns can get their first game in around the weather. It'll be hard on teams having to play multiple games in a day they hadn't planned on due to weather delays.
Not sure where you got your numbers, but from the official NCAA site as of Selection Sunday these are the numbers for Batting Average, Slugging %, ERA, Fielding % and Runs per Game for all 4 teams:
Louisiana: BA: .317 SLG: .485 ERA: 2.66 FLD: .968 RPG: 5.83
Baylor: BA: .288 SLG: .408 ERA: 3.53 FLD: .968 RPG: 4.25
Ole Miss: BA: .272 SLG: .418 ERA: 2.85 FLD: .969 RPG: 4.55
Princeton: BA: .286 SLG: .425 ERA: 3.96 FLD: .975 RPG: 4.53
None of these numbers change the teams that show up. They will be what they will be.
It's been a while since we've hosted. Are they selling alcohol?
I want to say years ago since it was an NCAA event, it was a no.
This will mark our 5th host
