That's what Glasco told a few supporters, but no sport has raised that kind of NIL. And it's not just the NIL money, Oklahoma has the largest Softball Budget in the NCAA and Alabama is tops in the SEC for now. UL is nowhere close to either and neither is baseball unfortunately.
We are not cutting football or Basketball for either program.
The bigger concern is the school suddenly being OK with "competing for championships", and that meaning Sunbelt championships
Not that our program was ever really competing for a national championship in football or basketball, but once you come out and confirm that you are OK with mediocrity + an occasional tournament appearance, you will lose what's left of your fanbase
I think the university should focus on sports entertainment and not the delusion of winning championships in football and basketball. The spring sports have a punchers chance.
