Fans like you are why Robert needs to get security to clear a pathway for him after games. You can call him VIP BOB!

MLB already is pushing to have players develop in college with the cut down draft & dropping of MILB teams.

Yeah don’t want all 20 people in the building trying to create a mob after the game.

I have been told by reliable sources that the Softball NIL cost to be truly competitive with the top tier of competition is in the neighborhood of $500,000/year. That number is not going down.

I have been warning all of our Baseball and Softball fans that the time was coming when both sports were going to become head count sports [1scholarship player=1 scholarship].
That is not here yet, but with NIL, it might just as well be.
That's what Glasco told a few supporters, but no sport has raised that kind of NIL. And it's not just the NIL money, Oklahoma has the largest Softball Budget in the NCAA and Alabama is tops in the SEC for now. UL is nowhere close to either and neither is baseball unfortunately.

We are not cutting football or Basketball for either program.

The bigger concern is the school suddenly being OK with "competing for championships", and that meaning Sunbelt championships

Not that our program was ever really competing for a national championship in football or basketball, but once you come out and confirm that you are OK with mediocrity + an occasional tournament appearance, you will lose what's left of your fanbase

so if you are told what you already know, at that point you won’t go

I think the university should focus on sports entertainment and not the delusion of winning championships in football and basketball. The spring sports have a punchers chance.

Exactly .. most people still think this.

As soon as most people think the spring sports are just as unlikely as football or basketball, it's all over
