More like the evolution of success through a different model than just "win and people will show up."

Let the aggregate number of scholarahips be added together and let teams assign as many or as few as they want to each sport they choose within the total.
I.e. instead of 85 football, 13 basketball, 12 baseball, 10 track for example 120 total. If someone wanted to put 40 on baseball why not, and just decrease the othwrs accordingly.

Now with NIL to take it a step further they could calculate the dollar value of each and you could award scholarships that are higher in price than the school costs. To further the example take those 40 for baseball, but pay them all at 3 times the rate to equal total allotment of 120.

You should also have access to the numbers not being used, for example however many scholarship men's soccer may be allotted and assign those to another sport, or beach volleyball or crew has more scholarship slota being left in the pursers pocket book

……But it fits into a successful program of logical inductions and that is what we don’t have with the negative deductions of a successful basketball program! What do our post season baseball chances look like?

Look at Dortmund. They have no business being in the UCL finals, but they do have the best gameday atmosphere in the world. Those guys are being CARRIED by their fans into the stratosphere.

We are not cutting football or Basketball for either program.
Not cutting out completely but the coaching pool and support functions budget haven't increased in almost 7 years.
