Thread: Gameday and Cajun Culture Traditions?

  1. #1

Louisiana Gameday and Cajun Culture Traditions?

What are ways we can bring in more Cajun Traditions for Tailgating and to the Games?

I feel like we represent Cajun Culture to the region and to the world we need to do more to represent that?

What are ideas we can enhance our gameday traditions ?

If someone can edit the title? Tradtions needs to be Traditions

Allow night before game tailgate setup and the opportunity to start with breakfast

It has to be a Gocations event.

Make it an event that caters to the Cajun Culture from tailgating to the game itself.

Create fan involvement with gumbo cookoffs or crawfish boils, and find a way to get local festivals like Festival Acadien to get involved like we have before. Also get in touch with the group from Festival International and consult with them. And even though their events are free, they also make enough money to stay around for decades. Ask them when they do to make it happen and how they create the community involvement.

I know this isn't the proper "athletics" answer, but we are unique people as a whole. Time to be unique in our business model.

    - Home kickoffs on Saturdays at 6pm. (Louisiana Saturday Night)

    - There should be cooking contests for EVERY home game. (Cajun food = Cajun Culture)

    - There should be at least 1 Cajun/Zydeoco band playing somewhere on Gameday. (Cajuns/Zydeco music = Cajun Culture)

    - There should be banners/flags/signage EVERYWHERE with Cajun sayings on them. (Cajun language = Cajun Culture)

    Laissez les bons temps rouler
    Ça c’est bon
    Joie de vivre
    Lache pas la patate
    Gris-Gris
    C'est la vie

    - Need a few people to go around the TG area to occasionally lead Cajun cheers.

    Yea Rouge/Yea Blanc
    Hot Boudin

You get the point. Unashamedly embrace our Cajun French heritage/Culture and Enthusiastically promote it to our children and each other.

    Language, Food, Music.

Trail rides...and Festival lives on grants and corporate donations, not just the festival generated funds

The only thing that needs to be done is make 90% free without restrictions. Everything else regarding attendance and community engagement will take care of itself. Not complicated. Greed always ruins a good thing

Lax rules and lower cost and everything else will take care of itself. It’s not difficult.

It’s creating supply with no demand. If the administration is worried about making things free, just find other avenues to generate revenue.

Are you saying there is no demand for tailgating at reduced cost or with reduced restrictions?

Tailgating / Parking Model have failed.

Cut red tape. All barriers to entry are barriers to profit. Look at it like this- Do these parking restrictions generate more than what could be earned by having more consumers inside the facility.

Example: Cajuns Baseball. One of the highest attendance/season ticket holder models in the Nation. There is not even a conceivable thought on my mind about paying to park every time I roll up to the Tigue. Roll up, buy ticket, go into our bad ass park.

To the thread question…run the Greek police leader and hire somebody that gives two flips about not running off future donors.
