If they didn't have it already, this should lock them into a top 8 seed.
What does that do for US?
Cal drops to Stanford 4-2
I know that VObserver and GoneGolfin are looking at what these games are doing to enhance our rpi ranking. I'm looking at it more from what the committee will actually do. There are three teams I want to be paired with in Super Regionals that I feel will give us the best avenue to the World Series, with LSU being at the top of that list. This win puts LSU in a position to get away from us. It will, of course, significantly enhance our rpi score, but at this point, it's too early to see what seed it will give us.
Miami, Ohio comes back to defeat Toledo, 5-4. Still alive in the MAC.
McNeese needs to wake up. Down 6-0 to Incarnate Word in the third.
Louisiana Tech fell back out of the Base RPI Top 75 (to 77, now back up to 76), costing the Cajuns .0013 bonus points. Some Cajun opponents also dinged the Cajuns' RPI ... so now the Cajuns are stacked right on top of Oklahoma State and UCLA at #11 again. Stanford separated a little after the Cal win. #6 Georgia is certainly within reach.
#5 Stanford .6709
#6 Georgia .6650
#7 Tennessee .6649
#8 Missouri .6643
#9 Oklahoma State .6593
#10 UCLA .6593
#11 Louisiana .6593
#12 Florida .6580
#13 Florida State .6509
#14 Arkansas .6492
#15 Alabama .6440
#16 Texas A&M .6424
#17 Virginia Tech .6350
#18 Baylor .63310
#19 Texas State .63310
A mere .0013 separates #9 -> #12. .0007 separates #6 -> #8. The Cajuns are only .0057 from #6.
