It just is what it is, and I happen to be pretty rational as a fan, while keeping more focus on the big picture.

And I enjoy friendly ribbing with the irrational fans on here, while trying to help them keep some things in perspective.
You’ve mentioned a few times that you watch a lot of college baseball. Question: which games outside of the Cajuns are you most interested in? For me, it’s probably conference foes and other G5s. Ever since that Saint Peter’s series in 2017 though I’ve been down a bit of rabbit hole with some of the smaller leagues. It’s pretty wild seeing the gulf between programs competing at the same level (D1) of a sport. You’ve got teams playing at rec ball fields with a handful of parents in lawn chairs and then teams playing in what are essentially top quality minor league parks with 10,000+ screaming fans. Watching some of those smaller leagues (particularly those in the NE) it does give some perspective as to what actually “sucking” is in college baseball. Not that I’ll use that perspective to make more informed comments when I’m ____ed during a bad game mind you.

As far as the term “meltdown,” maybe it’s not the best descriptor but to me it’s when guys let things spiral and can’t keep adversity from consuming them, similar to what happened with Hermann against Coastal and Troy. The lack of composure against Vandy is another example. We won’t play a regional at home. Hopefully some of those negative experiences taught us a lesson for the next time the lights get turned up.

One thing that our pitchers can be pretty sure of is that they will not have to maneuver the mound based upon the threats that fields like Troy place against them. Without those filed characteristics and parameters, they can face batters just like they face them at home. Taking 300 to 330ft out of the mix and making any ball hit that distance either a HR or extra bases without any chance of defending certainly changes the perplexity for the guy on the mound.

You’ve said some mind numbing things on this board throughout the years, under quite a few different screen names, but this one might take the cake for me (your ole buddy 32). Talk about lack of perspective. Drive that FastCar of yours over to an SEC board and let me know what you find.

Sorry but the only board I follow is this one and what I have seen over the years on this one leaves much to be desired. And the defense of "others are worse" is about as numb as anything else ever posted here.

I'm not sure about Mr. FastCar, but he surely does have his hand on the pulse of when the bats on this team will ROAR. Maybe more attention ought to be paid to what he posts as oppose to the ridiculous identity politics practiced by some when they are called for their own irrational behavior.

    32 and out.

We should hire Brad Boyd as hitting coach! No way Brad Boyd should be anywhere near our baseball program!

I watch nearly every Texas A&M game (a couple guys in my group are Aggies from Lafayette) quite a few Wake Forest games just because I became a fan of the team they had last year. I’ve watched some Kentucky games (guy in the group is a UK guy) and I also watch other Sun Belt games that are interesting.

I’ve watched Wright St play a couple times recently just to see what they look like now, random non-LSU SEC games (I hate LSU baseball more than anything in the world), mostly Georgia and Florida to watch Charlie Condon and Jac Caglione. And a few Tulane games because of relationships with parents of a couple of their players. Oh, and I watched quite a bit of the Lamar/La Tech series. Wanted to see Lamar (they’re good) and to see what Tech looked like at the time…they’re also pretty good.

I’ll also check out some random games just to see some ballparks I haven’t seen before. There are some really nice yards at places you wouldn’t expect. And some that are truly an embarrassment to call a Division 1 park (as you mentioned). I haven’t paid much attention to the Big 12 this year but have in the past. And outside of regional games at Oregon St and Stanford (and when A&M played USC and Arizona St earlier this season) I don’t pay any attention at all to the west coast. Although now that UCSB debuted in the top 25 this week, and UC-Irvine apparently is very good, I’ll probably try to watch each of those teams sometime in the near future if I am able to.

Last thing, do yourself a favor and watch some of the Ivy League. The top of that conference plays good baseball. And with the crazy rules they have, you’ll see some of the better players at big time programs next year. Example, A&M’s current 4 and 6 hole hitters were stars last year in the Ivy League last year, but no longer eligible to play in that league. And A&M has at least one guy playing up there now that is committed to them for next season, and has been since before this year began. I know that sounds bizarre, but that’s how they choose to run their conference.

I just love the game. Always have. When I’m not watching college baseball, it’s MLB. My kids are now grown so I have a lot of time on my hands these days!
