Haha. No drama. I watch every pitch of every Cajuns game, but I also watch a ton of other college baseball, and know what the college game is. And that good teams lose games to other good teams (and some to teams that aren’t good) and sometimes those losses are ugly. It just is what it is, and I happen to be pretty rational as a fan, while keeping more focus on the big picture.

And I enjoy friendly ribbing with the irrational fans on here, while trying to help them keep some things in perspective.

Me 2. I watched baseball and softball all week long and every Cajun's game. If there is not a Cajun's game on, then I find some other game to watch.

It is amazing what is found here in every sport. No other college sports message boards have anything on the fans of this board when it comes to irrational behavior.

Being ____ed off while getting skulldrug in what looked like a remake of the bad news bears is not asking for the season to be cancelled but whatever. Thinking your view is the only correct one isnt the definition of having perspective, its the opposite. We all have espn plus bud. We are the skin of our teeth away from being 1-9 over our last 10 and havent look good doing it.

You mean like a really good Georgia team scoring 9 in the top of the 1st against #1 Texas A&M ... then giving up 8 in the bottom of the 1st to the Aggies ... and then allowing A&M to score 17 unanswered runs en route to an Aggie blowout?

There were a few meltdowns in this one ... by both teams.

I’m pretty confident with my perspective since it aligns with other folks around the country that follow ALL of college baseball (see the D1Baseball poll). The data and eye test says this Cajun team is one of the better ones in the country. If you choose to think otherwise, by all means, have at it.

Then maybe you are not understanding at least some of my point ... because I agree that the Cajun staff did not perform to expectations this weekend. My point is simply that the park does make a difference. If you do not believe that ... then yes ... we are on other sides of the earth. In some cases, it can make a significant difference. I think the Troy pitchers are much better than their ERAs because of the park they play in, for example. That is my point.

I'm sure we are in agreement more than not. I'm not an analytics guy like you, so Troy pitching does not come into play in my discussion of how the Cajun's staff performed this past weekend. I don't know what the xWOBA is for both of the Troy pitchers are at home or on the road. Nor do I know what their Miss bats, Miss barrels and Ground ball rates look like. I think your point that Troy pitching is much better than the numbers look like year-to-date because of their home park, is illustrated by the fact that they swept Coastal Carolina in their park. While you make the point that there are other factors involved in the performance of our pitching staff, I'm simply focused on the fact that this staff has not pitched to its ability at Coastal and Troy, regardless of the other factors involved.

It is a tough sale to evaluate our pitching staff for two series and in the process exclude the paramount factors of those parks in which they pitched.
