We have to win tomorrow we know fluno is giving us nothing on Sunday.

I was suspecting some recurrent soreness with the early exit this past Sunday and the TBA on the pitching match-ups. Guessing McGeeHee gets the start Sunday.

Hitter's park is an important part of the equation. This is where Cajun pitching has struggled ... but fared well overall elsewhere. You also cannot separate the free passes. These do not happen by chance ... facing a good hitting team in a hitter's park leads to these and they need to clean it up. Cajun pitching has had some good non-home games this season ... in reasonable parks. I am not going to spend time trying to talk people off of the ledge, as many like to be there after a loss. As for myself, I never thought we were a Top 25 team ... nor a #2 seed (and said so). Simply have not proven it yet. But I do think they are a Top 40 team with a good chance to play in the NCAA Tournament. But they need to spend everything they have tomorrow to win that game. And if you lose Sunday, so be it ... but you give yourself a shot at the series by emptying the tank tomorrow.

I certainly agree with you on selling out for tomorrow. Similar to after G1 against Coastal, I’d take 1-2 in a heartbeat right now.

I was also concerned before the error. He gave up two lasers that we snagged for outs. The error was not a rocket, but I got the feeling Herrmann was not commanding the ball before the error. There is always the possibility of settling after a shaky 1st. Getting clobbered for a granny eliminated that.

One very small silver lining from this game…we were actually able to come out and produce some hits, baserunners, and runs against their Friday guy. That’s a very very small silver lining. When we went up 2-0 in the first I really thought we were in for a good night.

I think so. Which is why LP should be coming in as early as necessary ... but hoping Morgan can give them 4 to 5.

I would also like us to be more disciplined at the plate and work more free passes. Get guys on base and the big knocks will come. Pressure the pitchers. Pitchers are not pressured when Yuhasz swings at the first pitch 12 inches out of the zone and is behind the pitcher the entire count (just using him as an example ... but you know we have seen a lot of that this year). He guessed fastball on the first pitch of the game. But surely he did not think Gainous was going to do that the second time around, did he? Yuhasz then went on to strikeout the three at-bats that followed his first pitch leadoff double. Be disciplined and adjust. It is going to be needed in this series. Runs will need to be scored and working free passes will be necessary against a team that does give up freebies. The Cajuns only managed three tonight (two walks) ... versus 8 Ks.
