Teddy is pretty intuitive. He checks on us when we’re feeling bad.

    Ha a beagle, Dudley.

Back in the flood of 2016, before we had a clue of how bad it was gonna get, he started piling the other dogs pillows up, climbed on top, and went to sleep.

    Then the rain started.

He figured out pretty quick that I couldn't see much out of my left eye.

Couldn't lower my left hand with a potato chip or sandwich or whatever piece of food I might be eating.

He'd quietly work his way to my left side, wait for the right moment and pounce.

We had an older Jack Russell on his last legs. Pretty much stayed in his kennel and didn't eat much. Dudley could anticipate when Jack needed to go out, would go out first, wait for Jack to go out, sneak in under my left side and behind me to Jack's kennel to eat Jack's food.

Never realized how he was schooling me until one of my kids pointed it out.

Our vet said beagles brains are in their noses, so they aren't too smart.

    I beg to differ.

Yes. My dog will stop whatever she is doing, even sleeping, and immediately wants to be in my face.
