Somewhat related…This week I traveled to Shreveport. It’s pretty sad that Southern has multiple billboards starting here in Lafayette dotted the trip. UL? One on Cajundome Boulevard.

Nicholls made a hard push in Iberia Parish this year. UL…hey, they’ll come. We’re local and we hired a berry boy.

Print IS folding into the internet, but the DA doesn't have to be done this poorly, turned into a rag on purpose. Reducing print frequency while upholding some quality local standard can be done even in this day and age. It seems Gannett is more interested in propping up USA Today and to hoot with the rest.
Is it poor business or intentional. Look at washingron post they gladly sacrificed profits for in kind campaign donations, is the poor coverage of UL in essence an in kind contribution to TAF

He still has a kid to put through high school and beyond, and he loves to work.

Isn't Southern the one with the "we're vaccinated here at Southern University!" billboards...?

No one will ever be able to duplicate Footes vast knowledge.

But and however... Mike Coppage could take his place, its not often but he does a very good job of writing UL stories when Foote is off.

Even in his limited coverage MC is better than what the Advertiser is putting out, which is limited to stories written in other states.

Coppage is really good and has been covering the area for many years. With the ways newspapers are doing business, he's basically a free lancer for anyone that will pay him to write a story.
