Coach Marlin, all of his assistants, and several MBB players were at today’s event. Coach Dez from football also attended. Former Cajun Jake Delhomme was present and bid on some of the items in the silent auction.

Had a good conversation with John Taylor and his brother Will. The boys are locked in on Southern Miss and I expect a different attitude this weekend. We talked about Houston Christian and it is what it is. They realize what is at stake. John’s entire family is in from Oregon this weekend so I hope he can show out for them! John is a great young man.

Do we have any players that are not great young men?

Interesting that so many of our young athletes can be described as great young folks. I’ve met tennis players, golfers, as well as our other teams members and leave the conversations thinking, “what a great young person.” Always proud to realize that.
And then get to go to a function like this and see so many of our alumni participating and assisting and feel the same way. And at my age they’re still all young people.

We had other baseball players and stAff members at the F5 event as well. All people representing athletics including Coach Marlin and his guys spoke to and shook hands with as many people as possible. Committee thanks everyone involved with Cajun athletics for making the event successful. Note, ALL auction items with one exception were sold either at or beyond the minimum bid. Most were sold at a price well beyond the minimum bid. The one exception was an LSU football helmet signed by Coach Brian Kelly. The item did go for 500 so we thank that person for his support. If you did not attend this year, talk to someone who did and ask if they enjoyed the event. Likely they will speak in glowing terms of how much they enjoyed themselves. Hopefully that encourages you to consider attending next year on the last Thursday in April.
