Sophomore Malan Potgieter posted a 1-under-par 71 and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team finished with a team score of 4-over-292 to conclude the second day of the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championships on Tuesday at Annandale Golf Club.

Louisiana, the defending SBC Tournament champion, finished in a tie for seventh place with Coastal Carolina at 593 after 36 holes – one stroke behind fifth-place Texas State and two shots behind Troy and Southern Miss for fourth.

The final round of the 54-hole stroke play event begins on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a split tee start from Holes 1 and 10. Louisiana, which will be paired with Coastal Carolina and James Madison, will begin at 9:15 a.m. from the No. 1 tee.

Live results for the tournament are available at GolfStat.com with a live stream beginning at 10:30 a.m. on ESPN+. The top four teams after Wednesday's final round of stroke play will advance to match play on Thursday with the winner advancing to the NCAA Championships.

Potgieter maintained his top-10 standing in the field after finishing tied for fifth overall at 1-under-143 after 36 holes.

The Kirkwood, South Africa native posted a 2-under-34 on the front nine as he started off with a birdie at No. 1 before posting an eagle – joining teammate Burke Alford – at the par-5, 522-yard, No. 5. Potgieter added a birdie on the par-3, No. 12 for Louisiana and overcame a bogey at No. 14 to record par over his final four holes.

Jake Marler and Dylan Keating each posted scores of 1-over-73 for the Ragin' Cajuns with Marler recording a team-high five birdies for the round. Eli Ortego finished with a 3-over-75 in the round for Louisiana and finished tied for 12th overall at 3-over-147 with Alford posting a 4-over 76 which included an eagle at No. 5 and birdie at No. 15.

First-day leader Arkansas State widened its lead after 36 holes, posting a team score of 7-under-281 to finish at 569 after the second round. ULM (586), Marshall (589), Southern Miss (591) and Troy (591) were second through fifth respectively in the field with Texas State (592), Louisiana (593), Coastal Carolina (593), James Madison (596) and Georgia Southern (597) rounding out the top 10.

First-day leader Thomas Schmidt of Arkansas State maintained his overall lead after finishing with a 3-under-69 to finish at 7-under-137. Teammate Devyn Pappas moved up 11 spots on the leaderboard after posting a 5-under-67 for the round and finishing tied with A-State's Jake Lile and Marshall's Ryan Bilby at 3-under-141.
