Following RPI at this time of year is fun, no doubt.

Unfortunately our OOC opponents this season have let us down. Hosting is a pipe dream without running the table, which is incredible unlikely.

The hope, now, should be being sent somewhere as a middle “seed” (2 or 3) somewhere other than College Station or Fayetteville. Unfortunately, one of those two spots is the most likely scenario.

A win over Houston Christian will be a negligible .00065 drop in RPI. With the present RPI rankings, because we are practically tied with Auburn, the Cajuns would drop a spot in the rankings (all other things being equal). Practically speaking, it will really depend on how Cajun opponents perform ... as well as what teams ranked in the Cajuns' vicinity do. I view the Houston Christian game as an RPI neutral game (provided you win) and an opportunity to sharpen some things for the USM series.

Yep. I always forget about the opponents records impact on RPI.

I expect a bullpen game and some subs after 4-5 innings. I am interested to see how we do against a decent USM team. They did give up 46 runs (weekend) to GA State two weeks ago, dropping two of three, but beat up ULM the following weekend. That's college baseball, though. Thanks Brian!
