beat LSU and McNeese this week. Should help RPI dramatically.

Will definitely help, but I am not sure how much.

Our current RPI of .64884 is pretty far behind Florida State's .65463. Our remaining games are LSU [.68692], McNeese [.58610], ULM [.53684] x3 and Troy [.57055] x 3. They have two midweek games against Florida [.64515] and series with North Carolina [.56608] and Syracuse [.53216].

If we both win out in conference it will be very close. If they beat Florida twice, we probably have to beat LSU and McNeese to pass them; if they lose one to Florida, we might get by with a split with those two.

One problem is, we need someone to beat Florida several times. The Gators are not far behind us and have the 2 FSU games left plus series with Georgia [.67753] and Texas A&M [.66233].

I think the bigger problem is the committee's SEC bias. Florida would probably get to host even if we're ahead of them. Also, our geographical proximity to TSAB is a problem.

It's not just SEC bias, it is the ever changing criteria to favor ALL P-5 Schools. We played an essentially P-5 schedule this year. The committee will occasionally include a token Non P-5 just to quiet the masses. This year it will almost have to be us or Texas State, if they do throw in a token team. No one else has close to hosting credentials.

It is to their benifit to play each other often during the regular season.

I wonder if the committee looks at how many teams played each other, and whether that sometimes affects tournament pairing?

what the committee looks at all depends on the direction in which they wish to land

To the best of my knowledge they do not. Tournament pairings try to avoid matching conference mates, but don't worry about who played who otherwise.

We usually have same season home and home with LSU and McNeese, who we can depend upon to be at least reasonably good every year. We also usually have same season home and home with La Tech, Southeastern or Nicholls. ULM is in conference. We do not usually have all five of the home and homes every year.

We also do an alternate year home and home series with Baylor

The only thing I would do differently if I could would be to have an alternate year home and home series with Arkansas, Ole Miss or Mississippi State.

Not if they don't want to play here in a multi-season agreement.
