I went there yesterday to look at seats and they were taking the lights off of the poles with a couple cranes but not sure why.

Could they be replacing the older lights with newer “LED” type so lighting is consistent with new west side lighting?

That is correct. Doing more with less. The new lights are much smaller but way more efficient.
