I don't know about insurance and all, but Louisiana pretty much gave away rights to the CajunDome in return for 13+ days a year usage.

Perhaps Blackham will let UL back in at some point.

Never happening, Blackham is seriously below grade relative to surrounding ground. And UL knows it and does nothing but collect occasional rent.

Allegedly they didn’t pay rent or provided proof of insurance in LC per a LC attorney.

“ASM is an internationally recognized company with a long track record of success in the management of arenas and event centers around the world. Working with the City of Lake Charles, ASM did everything in its power to make the inaugural season for the Louisiana Voodoo a reality for Lake Charles. The AFL signed and agreed to lease terms that required the team to provide lease payments, insurance certificates, and other functions in connection with their use of Lake Charles Event Center. Ultimately, the Arena Football League (AFL) did not pay their rent, nor did they provide a certificate of insurance as outlined in the executed contract, leading to the contract’s termination. The City and ASM would have been irresponsible in protecting the taxpayers’ best interest had they allowed the team to host any games at the Lake Charles Event Center without paying rent or providing a certificate of insurance.”

Been told by multiple people that ASM was the issue. Voodoo paid what was due under the lease. They plan on releasing statement on Monday and apparently lake Charles had asked them to wait until then.

BREAKING. A source with the Philadelphia Soul confirmed with @arenainsider that the Arena Football League has failed to: pay housing, pay staff, coaches and players and only paid one way tickets to New Orleans for their game against Voodoo but did not pay returning flights (1/?)

I went and stayed for the first quarter.
The kids and families there all seemed to enjoy themselves. The cost of entry will most likely bring them back.
The arena set-up is awful and not made for this sport, but kudos to Lafayette for stepping up in short notice. Hopefully, they can put these games in the Cajundome where this sport belongs.
