Thread: State of Virginia Approves Universities Paying Athletes NIL

  1. Support State of Virginia Approves Universities Paying Athletes NIL

What a Pandora's box getting cracked open. Title IX, equal pay for all, professors making less than athletes. A load of government regulations in play. What a mine field to traverse.

Their law states the athletes are not employees, but I'm pretty sure a judge will see it differently.

So any state can pass any law in violation of the ncaa

    I can see it now...
"Louisiana gov signs law not requiring students to attend school"

Ironically werent we put on death penalty for the opposite, violating a louisiana law but it was sanctioned by ncaa

When you mention employees.... there have been a lot of cases about that, especially in the independent contractor world.
One would think there were more advantages to being an independent contractor but many groups sued to get recognozed as employees
