I think Tech threw a weekend starter one inning (Friday or Saturday guy), and they threw their main closer the last inning, which is something we’ve done done throwing LP this season, including last night.

ETA: Looking back, we threw Chase Morgan for an inning vs LA Tech midweek last month.

Both C-USA and Southland only have 9 schools, so there’s always an odd man out. Odd number schools create so many issues for conferences.

    Jay mentioned that Aiden Vosburg (0-2 6.45 ERA, 22.1 IP, 10 APP, 2 GS, 29 H, 18K, 8 BB, 1 HB, .315 OBA) will be starting.

Then we have Jack Martinez that can be very good when his command is there ... and if it is not, you go somewhere else. His OBA is .210. Stuff is nasty when on.

Then you have Blake McGehee who had some struggles when he had a hand injury. But that has now healed and he threw very well the last time out. Anyone that knows anything about pitching can see the talent here. He also has the genes ... saw his Dad pitch at La Tech and then subsequently in MLB.
7 shutout innings from these two tonight.

Too bad we do not have a deep pitching staff.

What we don’t have is a deep posting staff

After tonight, the ELEVEN guys that have made the most appearances have a combined ERA of 2.87

That’s disgustingly good in college baseball

I love it when you drop knowledge on the naysayers. Especially when they doubt you and you present the receipts

Not exactly the answer to this question, but speaking to staff depth…

If you take the top 11 guys in appearances, and then remove the 3 weekend starters and their 1.90, 1.91, and 2.20 ERAs:

The next 8 guys have thrown 194 1/3 innings in 103 appearances. Those guys combined ERA is 3.43

    A 3.43 ERA would rank 4th nationally.

Ignorance combined with stubbornness frustrates me.
