    Tuesday 4/16

    Memphis 1 Mississippi State 16
    Tulsa 0 Oklahoma 8
    UT Arlington 4 Baylor 3
    Longwood 7 JMU 10
    Longwood 2 JMU 8
Georgia Tech 5 Georgia State 4
Louisiana Tech 3 Ole Miss 7
Louisiana Tech 5 Ole Miss 6
    NMSU 4 New Mexico 3
    Ball State 3 Miami 8
    Ball State 2 Miami 8

While I expected UNM and Georgia State to lose, I thought La Tech would split with Ole Miss and I am really disappointed with Baylor. Combined with our loss, 6-5 by our opponents will hurt our RPI a bit. The SBC went 2-2 in non-conference games, which also hurts a little [the conference's OOC RPI before last night was .54371]. The bright spot is that we have now added LSU's 33-8 record to our Opponent's Record portion of the RPI. As of yesterday we were .00128 ahead of Auburn and .00031 behind Florida State in actual adjusted RPI. I am not sure whether last night's results will change our RPI enough to move in either direction in RPI ranking [we were 14 yesterday].

    Games of 4/17/2024

    Stanford 12 UC Davis 3
    Stanford 4 UC Davis 2
    Texas State 10 UTSA 0
    North Carolina 2 Liberty 1
    Chattanooga 10 Lipscomb 2
Kennesaw St 3 Georgia State 4
    Sam Houston 2 McNeese 4
    Cal 4 Fresno State 3
    Coastal Carolina 5 Charlotte 10
    Georgia Southern 4 Mercer 1
    Grambling 1 ULM 5
    App St 11 North Carolina A&T 3
South Alabama 2 Mississippi St 0

Teams we wanted to win in Italics, teams that won in bold

Last night was good to Louisiana.

    First, we won.
Second, the Conference went 5-1 last night, giving the SBC a small boost in Conference RPI.
Third, South Alabama beat Mississippi State, helping our RPI and hurting Mississippi State's RPI.
Fourth, In games that directly affect the opponents record portion of our RPI, we picked up 9 wins against only 3 losses [the ULM win won't be actually there until we play them, but I counted it anyway]

The actual affect on the OOR of our RPI was the addition of 25 wins against 7 losses. [21-7 in effect now, 1 more that comes in when we play McNeese next week, and three more when we play ULM].

The NCAA will post today's numbers later this morning. I will post an RPI update when I see them.

UL Softball Re: Games of Interest 4/15/2024 - 4/21/2024

    Series for Weekend of 4/19-4/21

    Texas @ Kansas Texas sweeps
Washington @ Cal Cal loses 2 of 3
LSU @ Tennessee LSU loses 2 of 3
    Houston @ Oklahoma OU sweeps
    UCLA @ Stanford UCLA sweeps
    UCF @ Baylor Baylor sweeps
NMSU @ Liberty Liberty wins 2 of 3
UTEP @ La Tech La Tech loses 2 of 3
San Jose SU @ Colorado State CSU sweeps [2 games]
Utah State @ New Mexico UNM sweeps [3]
Southeastern LA @ Nicholls Nicholls wins 2 of 3
Houston Christian @ McNeese McNeese sweeps
SFA @ Utah Valley SFA wins 2 of 3
Miami @ Central Michigan Miami wins 2 of 3
South Alabama @ Georgia State USA sweeps
Troy @ Georgia Southern Troy wins 2 of 3
Coastal Carolina @ Marshall CCU wins 2 of 3
Chattanooga @ Mercer Chattanooga lose 2 of 3
Central Arkansas @ Lipscomb UCA sweeps.

Including all games, our opponents went 44-23 this weekend [.65672].

With our sweep of a fairly weak opponent, and the relative success of our opponents, I would expect that our actual RPI will not change by very much and our RPI ranking probably will not change at all.

We will know later this morning how accurate my guess is.
