The final weekend of the regular season is here for the Louisiana men's tennis team. The Cajuns started the week with Georgia State on Saturday at the Youngsville Sports Complex before facing No. 70 Georgia Southern on Sunday.

Louisiana is 4-2 in the Sun Belt Conference this season and winners of their last two. The Cajuns have defended their home courts this season and gone 6-0 at home. Louisiana enters the weekend with a chance to finish tied for first in the SBC. They need to win both matches this week and have Old Dominion lose to James Madison to finish tied for first.

Oriol Fillat Gimenez has been on fire of late, winning his last seven matches. The streak dates back to February 9 and includes four unfinished matches that Fillat Gimenez led or was entering the third set.

Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Vasil Dimitrov each picked up their 10th singles win of the season in last Sunday's 4-1 win over Southern Miss. It was the third straight win for Sanchez Gonzalez, while Dimitrov's match-clinching win improved his record to 8-3 on court four.

Georgia State is 8-12 on the year but won their last two, defeating South Alabama and Troy at home. Edward Tymes has a team-leading 10 wins, with the majority of them coming on court three, while Baran Soyler and Naufal Kamaruzzaman have eight wins each.

Georgia Southern was ranked No. 70 by the ITA this past week and the Cajuns look for their second win over a ranked team this season. The Eagles come into the weekend at 11-8, but last time out had a seven-match winning streak snapped by South Alabama. Pol del Castillo has a team-high 13 singles wins while Dimitris Paliouras is 12-3 on the year.
