I just left there. The way he explained it to me is that the 1,000 is the minimum champion (old donors number) you have to be at. So if you buy tickets, the donation amount is but in you champions bucket. If throughout the year you buy or donate to RCAF the total amount has to be 1,000. Your spot is now only $200 instead of $500 unless you don't meet the $1,000, you then have to match the difference.
This is the exact conversation I had yesterday with the RCAF. All of his answers concerning growth, community outreach, and student engagement (harassment) will improve due to actually having a full staff. I also mentioned you can't increase prices when you have less attendance across the board.
RCAF used to be a simple and easy to understand point system. I stopped caring about accumulating points when it became a complicated black box. Just sayin'.
Looks like they are going up on baseball ticket prices as well. At least there's not another pointless re-seating on the horizon - and at least we have a product on the field that is worthy.
The approach has changed. Generational giving has been greatly discounted. It’s now what you give this year.
Just so I understand correctly -- the selling point here is that they're charging you more to tailgate for football, but it works out to be a decent deal IF you also buy tickets for other sports?
You have to donate to RCAF to get a spot, I think currently it's only $100. If you buy season tickets, let's assume 4 and it's the $75 "champion fund", that buts you at $400 in giving. Assuming you don't purchase any additional tickets or other fundraising opportunities, your spot would go up to $600 instead of $500. If you purchase baseball tickets or any other support, your spot price would potentially go down. The new system encourages support for multiple athletic events.
How about this.
For the last 20+ years, I have had 2 chairback seats on the 50 about 20 rows up, and I have had a Tailtgate spot that came with 2 parking passes.
I intend to get 2 season tickets this year wherever they decide I should be, and I am already paying 69$/month right now for the RCAF.
Can anyone decipher exactly what they will charge me for Tailgating?
