UL Football FootballScoop.com: NCAA once again pushing to abolish limit on football staff sizes

    https://footballscoop.com/news/ncaa-...ll-staff-sizes

The proposal is in the "socialization" stage, with the Oversight Committee prepared to reconvene in mid-May to consider feedback gathered over the spring.
What about the AFCA? The American Football Coaches Association is fully behind the proposal, and in fact one of the driving forces behind it.
How will this play out in the real world? Are SEC teams suddenly going to have 50 coaches? Never say never, but the consensus is that major college football would follow the NFL model. "Senior analysts" would promote to "assistant quarterbacks coach," "assistant offensive line coach" and so on.
Seems like the NCAA is in lockstep with Greg Sankey on their intention to push the G5 out.

The reality is that this has already happened. There is a team photo floating around the internet of Florida football that has more staff members in it than actual football players. In typical Florida fashion Napier is getting hammered by the Florida fans and that photo isn't helping his cause. You gotta believe Napier has to have moments where he questions what he has done. Saban proved that having a bunch of coaches can help and now Napier seems to be proving that there might be a little more to it other than numbers.

I've said it already but worth repeating. When Nick Saban walked away from the game that spoke volumes about the direction college athletics in general is headed.

He who has the gold rules. It ain’t the NCAA anymore.

C90 is right about Saban walking away, you know what’s coming isn’t good for anyone.

If the collegiate model is no more, then, those players receiving NIL monies are employees. The question is, who is employing them?

In Europe, each Futbol Club has an Academy that signs all of their local talent. These teenagers are "schooled" in the game and learn life skills. Some of them end up playing for the Club. Some of them are traded away or sold outright. This is how smaller Clubs stay in business at the top levels. They turn a profit by selling their best prospects, and sometimes make a run in the Top Division if they are lucky.

NIL and the Portal would be a lot fairer if we had been compensated for players like Zeon.

If the big boys want to have a private party with our recruits, fine. They just need to pay the freakin' bill first.
