All that said, it is better than no plan at all.
It's an outline but gives very little mechanics on how those goals will be achieved. Much like a business plan, these goals will be adjusted during the time period given. They should do a few RCAF meetings for all giving levels and explain some of the mechanics on how they will grow RCAF to the stated goal and other areas of concern.

Strategic plans don’t usually go into how. Just broad goals. And yes they can be adjusted. But if that is done often over a 5 year period, bad plan.

Hopefully there are internal operational plans associated with each strategic priority, which should be updated yearly due to the extremely volatile environment of college athletics.

    But kudos for releasing this.

Just an observation, the photos used in the brochure leans feminine. This should be a full throated emphasis on football, men's basketball, softball, and baseball. Sports with stronger passionate followings. The remainder of the sports don't draw large numbers of fans or just chances are will not due to the nature of the sport. Women's basketball certainly could be more of a spectator sport here but right now its not. So much of this brochure's emphasis on women sports photos with small followings, instead of football, which drives the bus and is in the midst of new stadium build, doesn't make a lick of sense to recruit more RCAF donors. FOOTBALL!!!

In my professional career, we annually generated a 5 year strategic plan and a 1 year tactical plan. The tactical plan had more specifics on how to reach short term goals of the strategic plan. Look backs at how things were progressing were performed regularly as well.

Fulfillment of the Alden plan would have been nice to see.

I’d love to see all this happen and not end up on the shelf next to the aforementioned Alden plan.
Specifically addressing student support is also something I would recommend if feedback on the plan is requested.
