Except for one inning on Tuesday, pitching has been winning pitching for 3 games.

Very true. And that was a matter of one relevant guy having a rough night….which happens. Not to denigrate the freshmen, they may both end up being stars over the next few years, but if guys who are highly unlikely to pitch on the weekend at all this season struggle in a midweek game when you have a 10-1 lead, it’s pretty irrelevant

If the pitching staff continues to attack the strike zone, I’m excited about the potential of this team.

13 K and 3 BB will get it done most of the time.

I had the same thoughts. Very low pitch count. 38 pitches entering the 5th... and 51 for the game.

    Hope he's OK.

But LP came in and it was lights out (71 pitches)!

    Helluva Friday combo!

Deggs said in the postgame Herrmann “has been barking a little bit”. They were happy to get 4 and were trying to get 5 out of him. Once someone got on, they made the move.

Deggs said he wanted to bring in a righty against the batter who had the only good hit against hermann. Especially with 2 runners on base. I’d say it was a good decision.

Ah, the 13 run inning. That was ugly.

This is the Friday type of game I like to see. 2-1/2 hour game or so.

I don't want to get ahead of my skis here, as we haven't played Game 2 yet. However, where is the Leg poster guy who was VERY active in the Arky State game threads last weekend?

Not a single comment here. Even if he was at the game and too busy, surely he'd have something the morning after, no?
