Sam deserved this a long time ago. Sun Belt seems to overlook the Cajuns.
They have overlooked our pitchers because the other teams with good pitchers in this conference have only one good one. Those girls [like Lackey at USA and Mullins at TxSt] have better records and stats than ours do, but only because they are throwing at least twice as many innings as any of our pitchers.
We definitely have been pitching by committee this year more than any other year. Trust the committee.
We appear to be utilizing more of a traditional baseball pitching structure than a traditional softball structure.
CGG has called for Landry and Riasetto to pitch more games recently to get back to winning games. IMO, the other 3 pitchers haven't shown much to inspire any confidence. Loecker has a nice drop ball and velocity, but seems to only get in games when we have a big lead. Delby and Ryan have been disappointing so far this season. No idea if either of them are dealing with any physical limitations or they're simply not very good. This is a bit troubling for the balance of the season, but also for next year as both are juniors with another year of eligibility. We do have a new pitcher signed for next year in Mallory Wheeler, but I expect there will be a transfer or 2 coming as well.
