The dominance over south Al is just crazy. They are a good softball program. They actually may have more success vs. Alabama than they do against us in the last decade.

Well, if it was the Big 12, sure, but not This conference. How many SEC or big 12 teams would have the same streak today? I'd say quite a few.

With a wink and a nod you gotta admit, lots of teams have won Softball National Championships.

The two toughest feats ever in softball are getting to a 71 game winning streak, and breaking a 71 game winning streak.

Only one team in each catagory has ever done it.

Also reminded me that last year was the 14th or 15th consecutive NCAA tournament in which the Cajuns have advanced at least to the Championship game in a regional..

I would argue that that is a bigger accomplishment than either thing being discussed here.

Says a lot about timing and recruiting. No matter where a 71 game run happens, it encompasses a NC. Weekend sweeps are important, but a long streak is yet to bring the ultimate success. It’s nice having the series streak, made good media, to a point.

82nd conference softball series victory in a row. A record that won't be touched ever since it's 11 years in a row and still ongoing.

No accolades associated with it, which means no reason to get up for it except internally.

That alone makes it impressive.

71 straight has the advantage/burden of getting up for every game fully aware they are coming for you, but as a core team you appreciate and are aware of the situation.

82 straight series represents a massive flux of players who cannot be aware in the same way as a unit.

Both very impressive.
