If we don’t fix the walks and HBP’s we will hover at or right above .500 all season. You can’t continually put free base runners in the double digits and expect to win consistently. We have a lot of guys pitching in D1 for the first time, hitters at this level will not swing at stuff way off the plate. The book is out now as well, expect every coach we play to tell him players to make us throw strikes consistently, because to this point we can’t. Keep the free bases up and it will be, gotta win the tourney real quickly.

It's not just about what is happening right now. We saw similar issues last year and we are seeing them again this year. We're almost 20 games into the season with no solidified Friday starter and inconsistencies at the plate and in the field. The sun belt is tough right now. USM, Coastal, etc. will murder this team if we don't get it together. Yes it is only game one of conference play. But we are seeing the same issues kill us over and over again.

With that said, win the next 2 and we have back to back 3-1 weeks. Not too much to complain about if we can get that done.
